There are (2) types of Processes that can be achieved for all your Natural Stone Care:
Maintenance Buffing/Polishing
This method doesnotremove damage caused by scratch and wear patterns. However is an alternitive if scratches and travel patterns are not quite noticable.
Crystallization is the Maintenance cleaning method of choice and is formed by creating a very hard dense clear crystal. (Not a Wax)
The advantages of Crystallization are it never has to be stripped, increases color, shine, slip resistance, and hardness.
Restoration by use of Diamond Abrasive Pads
This method completely removes all damage and imperfections.
Restoration process is a (2) step process that includes a mechanical grind/polish, followed by a chemical powder/paste polish. This chemical powder/paste polish is still the most widely used in the industry.
Sealing Natural Stone
This is the most important step in protecting your natural stone. Your natural stone should be protected immediately following either a maintenance or restoration method. A Flourocarbon Based Sealer is used/applied to repel both water and oil bourne spills.
Natural Stone Maintenance Tips/Care
Always clean your natural stone with neutral based cleaners recommended by professionals. Never use anything other than professional products. A microfiber mop (velcro attached) is the best for both wet and dry applications. Avoid dragging, dropping, or any sharp metal objects on natural stone. Keep walk-off mats by all sinks, laundry rooms, front entrances, etc. to soften damage in heavilly used areas.
Try to have floors regularly maintained at least once a year. Your floors are made to last forever, however, if left unmaintained, your investment is unappreciated. Keep it clean and shiny! Remember, every natural stone surface has everyday wear and tear in every residential or commercial setting!
